For this second portraits I wanted to a mini-series of my mother, Bernadette Maugile, because she’ll be the main subject in my final photo essay and I wanted start familiarizing myself with photographing her in our home.

While taking the photos my mom noticed a photograph that caught her eye on the window ledge. She didn’t initially recognize herself so I was able to catch this sweet candid moment of reacquaintance with her younger self.
