This first series of portraits features Caitlin VanFossen, a childhood friend of mine, who moved to Montreal about 25 years ago. There’s so much I can say about my years growing up with Caity but one thing that has always struck me about her is her die hard love of books - I would say I love books too but Caitlin’s level of bibliophile is unparalleled. When in 2004, Encore Books & Records, a second-hand bookstore opened up 5 doors down from her home, Caitlin with her most determined teenage spirit vowed that she would work there one day. Low and behold, 20 years later, Caitlin is now a manager at Encore Books & Records, living the dream she saw for herself so many years ago.

Seeing her in this place brings so much joy to our past and present selves.
